This is a blog for all the people playing a Wizard in Diablo 3 who would like to keep up-to-date on skills, runes, PvP, gameplay footage, strategies, and the community of both Diablo 3 and the Diablo 3 wizard. New Popular Inferno Build – Critical Mass

As you’ve probably seen (if you watch Diablo videos on Youtube or browse the forums) this new Critical Mass build is becoming more and more popular. Although this build was being used shortly after release, it was hotfixed when Blizzard decided it was overpowered. However, in patch 1.0.3 they brought it back (it’s just not quite as powerful as it once was). It does require better gear than the traditional blizzard/hydra build, but it allows wizards to finally provide some significant utility to groups.

This video below does a good job of demonstrating the build and the different skill and stat variations that can be used.

Melee Wizard Build and Strategy with Barbarian

The Critical Mass build is back! Once again, wizards on youtube are showing off this newly viable build that requires a high crit chance and a few key spells. This build came well before 1.0.3 but was hotfixed because Blizzard felt that critical mass was working too well with some spells. As of 1.0.3, critical mass works once again (just not as well as it did originally) and the result: any wizard with at least 25% crit chance can try out this very fun build.

This wizard and barbarian team have had some success with this build. The stuns from frost nova allow the barbarian to use a higher dps build, which allows them to kill mobs very quickly:

What You Need to Know About Diablo Patch 1.0.3

Inferno Friday just make a 20min video talking about the changes made in patch 1.0.3. Many player didn’t realize how big this patch was; there have been a lot of significant changes, and if you don’t feel like reading through all the patch notes, this video does a good job covering the important changes:

Diablo 3 Gear Give Away!

A video was just added on YouTube about a Diablo 3 Gear Give Away! The Inferno Friday channel is starting to give away pieces of gear in Diablo to their subscribers. All you have to do is subscribe to their channel and favorite one of their videos, and you’re as eligible as anyone to win an upgrade for your character. If you win, they will contact you on YouTube and set up a time to meet in game to give you your new item. They say they’ll guarantee it’s an upgrade, so this sounds like a no-brainer for anyone trying to get some better gear.

Wizard Inferno Act 2 Build – Skills and Gear

Are you one of the many people who have made it through Act 1 of inferno, only to hit a wall and get stuck on Act 2? If you’re not there yet, you probably will be. It seems that the difficulty jump between acts in inferno is much more dramatic than it is in the previous difficulties. If you’re having trouble in act 2, however, you might want to try the strategy that Archon lays out in this video.

It relies on a few key skills, and stats to take advantage of those skills. The illusionist passive skill hasn’t been very popular among the wizards on YouTube, but it seems that under the right circumstances, it could prove to be very useful. Take a look at the video to see it in action:
